QR Codes: What are they and how can they help your Pizzeria?

qr code pizza sticky note advertisingMy designers keep telling me, the only way to get attention with my ad is to use white space. I keep telling the designers that my sticky note is valuable real estate, and I don’t have toom for white space. I have menu items, specials, and full color pictures that I want included in my notes.

Today, we came to a compromise.

QR (quick response) codes are the latest in the advertising industry. They are scanned by smart phones by taking a picture and lead your clients directly to your webpage. What I like about them is you can print them on your sticky note and have it link to your menu.

Let white space prevail. My sticky note is now focused solely on getting the client through the front door. Here are my top 3 reasons I like QR codes:

1. Plug Into the Social Media Revolution.

When using your sticky notes as box toppers, I highly recommend a QR code for your Facebook or Twitter page. These sites facilitate your customers accessing and sharing coupons you post. It is an easy way to make customers happy and to gain a larger network of consumers you can market to. With a QR code, it is so easy for them to scan and click like, they are more likely to take action, especially if you offer more deals if they do.

2. Introduce a New Product Through a Video Link

This is what I like best about QR codes: prining is no longer static, you can directly link to an interactive experience. I have seen one company introduce a new product by creating a video. He was able to link his sticky note box toppers directly to that video through QR codes.

3. Your Menu – Always Updated

As you know, investing in re-printing to go menus after you have had prices change or increased your product line can be really expensive. A QR code will link directly to your updated online menu. When your client looks on the fridge for who to order from and sees your sticky note or magnet, they can scan the QR code and instantly have access to your most current menu. They no longer have to dig through their papers trying to remember where they stashed your last, perhaps outdated, menu.

Give me a shout out on social media and let me know how QR codes work for you.
